Fear 2.x is the active development of the current Fear Codebase. Fear 1.x (not to be confused with the current codebase) consists of a different style of game play and is not actively developed anymore. Fear 2.x offers a class-less system along with a level-less system. Due to a system like this, it is possible to expand the game in all directions to allow for hours upon hours of character growth. On the flip side, if you are looking for a codebase that can be used for strictly RP game, the Fear 2.x codebase could be changed to allow for a heavy RP theme compared to a heavy stat/equipment style theme. Due to the nature of how this codebase is developed, it should offer a lot in the areas of hack/slash and also those who would rather RP.
