Can I safely remove the overland.c file as I will not be using that part of the map, I know I need to change something in environment.c as well.
Is there anything else I need to change to get it to recompile correctly?
Thanks !

If you plan on using ANY part of the map you will need overland.c. And while I'm not sure if I'm right, it's very likely that there are functions in overland.c that are called by other portions of the code that might break if you actually remove overland.c from the makefile.

lol, I once took and removed overland from AFK it isn't easy.
Don't remember how long it took, but it took quite some time and work to get it fully out. It is tied into alot of other things. It has been awhile since I did it but I remember that taking out overland ment about 4 or 5 other things needed removed also.

Yes, there are a number of things which expect the overland code itself to be there. But there is nothing stopping you from editing the overland.h file, making the map sizes 1x1x1 and then simply never making use of it. This way it would at least not chew up memory and still be there later if you should decide you want to use it.
