Is there a guide for someone looking to start a server up from scratch and little to no knowledge?
I'm good at figuring things out as long as there is documentation but I can't seem to find a good guide anywhere for AFKmud.
I've been at least a head builder far back in the past, and helped with some simple code stuff so I don't need much info there.

Basically I'm having problems in these areas:

-Is there anything I should do before compiling?

-Compiling, how its done. I've installed cygwin and the correct libraries just no idea how to go about that.

-Once I've compiled the code base where do I go from there? Is Cygwin all I need to run the compiled files?

Also if you have any suggestions of any other programs I could be using, that would be awesome as well :)

EDIT: Well I think i've figured out how to compile... I went to the AFKmud/src directory in cygwin and typed make.. Everything seemed to go smoothly. It created an AFKmud app in the src folder

I started it up in cygwin by typing run Afkmud... I can connect to this through a mudclient using localhost and port 9500.. Now here is where the problems start to show.

I can log in just fine with the Admin/admin account, but once logged in... All commands produce the "Huh?" response and all the while it will spam Bugs: [*****] BUG: interpret: No such file or directory

Edit 2: Well I looked through some of the other forums hoping that I could find the same problem happening and I think by editing the makefile and removing the # from the cygwin = 1 line I've fixed my problem... Will let you know if I have any other issues... But help would be appreciated if there is anything I should Know :)
