Hello again,
Is there an easier way to create an area? So far we are defining the vnumbers for a zone. We then goto a room number. and attach exits to the old room. We then go back to the room from before and link that one to the new one. That takes a very long time to build a large city or dungeon. So, is there an easier way in the server to create a large generic area with generic rooms that we can then go in and edit?

mapout will help by creating the area with the rooms already linked how you put them in the editor.

you can also take and instead of going to the first room, then the second, creating an exit to the first, going to the first and creating the exit back....go to the first, go to the second, create a bexit to the first and it will create the exit back from the first.

not sure right off if afkmud has the command or not, but there is also an rdig command around that makes it so you go to the first and rdig , it would create the new room and link it in the direction specified.

Hello,
When we type mapout we get a "huh?" response from the server. We can type help mapout but non of the commands listed actually work. Any idea why?

Update: Nifty, we just made our own room editor script in order to create areas at a much faster pace.

might want to try seeing if you have a mapout command and that the code for it is in. dont blame you there, room creating can be time consuming
