Anyone know some good mud hosting sites?
Genesis mud while priced great but has outdated gcc gcc version 4.1.2 20080704 (Red Hat 4.1.2-55)
Unfornately that outdated gcc makes my gdb give poor results. I get dwarf errors because it needs to be updated. I think I'll keep them as a test port and get a vps host for main game. I'm leaning towards tnahosting that someone on i3 told me about.

At this stage of things you might be better off getting yourself a cheap small VPS from somewhere like Linode. They have shared CPU VPS plans that would be perfect for a MUD all the way down to $5/mo

Yeah went with a vps. I remember you used to update arthmoor so much I'd get upset with updating code to get it to compile but it helps find code errors and keeps things running smoothly.

I'm surprised Genesis is still running such an old OS. Part of the reason for keeping my old service updated was because half of those updates were for security issues. Annoying, yes, but less annoying than stuff getting hacked.
