I Win, I'm going to take a stab at the graphic, Any particular fonts? Or anything along those lines? Specific format?
You win? There was a competition?

I think it turned out very very nicely, Kayle. Good job.
(I had a feeling it sounded like it'd look better with the dragons facing outward from the words...)

Yay, less work for me. I think it's a little too big, though. And it's unfortunate that the dragons are cut off towards the center like that; I would have tried to make the cutoff line along either the edges of the image, or that line in the middle. Otherwise it looks good to me. (Certainly a better font than I have lying around...)

It's meant to be larger than the original one. Wider but not taller. I didn't want to get rid of the original yellow guy.

Samson, did you know that our post headers get all screwy like this if you increase the text size in firefox?

Heh. No, but I do now. Though I'd have no idea how to fix that. For me it goes screwy after hitting ctrl+ twice, which makes the fonts extremely large.

I must have mine defaulting to slightly larger than yours then because it's only taking ctrl+ once to do it here.
What's really fun is if I do ctrl+ three times, the headers go back to normal, albeit huge...

Dragona wins! But I have to agree with David a little bit, the graphic could use a wee bit of tweaking in a few areas, I'll have to fiddle with it over the next few days and see what I can come up with.

I didn't even know we were competing.
Well, as long as you're accepting the critizism gracefully, any change the dragon wings could taper just a bit more? They look really good until you get to the edge of the banner where it looks like they just got snipped. I realize that it's a banner so they are just cut off at the edge there, but could the edge be extended a few pixels so they could taper to their own ends and not look like someone clipped the dragons' wings?

Hmm, I had pictured that part as the neck, not the wing... But hey, we clip our dragons' wings here, we don't want them flying away.

Nah, David, I meant on the outside edges, not the edges bordering the words.

Yah, I know, I just pictured it as a dragon with a really long neck that's curling in a U-shape.

I can see making the wings Taper a bit, I dunno how much longer Samson's going to want this image though, at 1024x768 it dominates a good bit of the header (at least half by rough estimate), and I know he wants to keep his little yellow guy. XD

Wouldn't it work to make the dragons a little smaller, and use the extra room to do the taper? The image size would end up being the same that way.

You would think that would work, but unfortunately making them any smaller makes them look awkward. Another thing I'm slightly worried about is making the bodies meet in the middle as you suggested, without changing the text color, It might not be so easy to read if I extend them out.

Yeah... I've had similar situations in the past where something that should work just doesn't for some reason. Well, have fun fixing it in any case. This hot potato is out of my hands now.

Well if the image starts to become a problem the yellow guy doesn't HAVE to stay I guess. He's just traditional at this point. I'm sure he'll find a home somewhere
As far as it dominating at 1024x768 it doesn't look that huge. How much bigger are you planning to make it?

Hopefully not a whole lot, I've got a little bit of coding to catch up on, and then I'm going to work on getting the wings to taper a little bit more so they aren't so.. "clipped" we like our dragons flying after all. if i can pull it off right, I hope to keep the growth to 100 more pixels width.
