I'll likely do away with the 3/login though and instead you just type new or enter a character name to login lol

Enter your character's name, or type new: remcon Password: You are currently logged on account Remcon. Type 0 or quit to quit. Type 1 or password to change your account password. Type 2 or delete to delete your account. Characters: You can bypass the account menu and auto login a character by using autologin command while in the game. Remcon To create a new character type new, to log on a character enter the character's name. If the character isn't listed you can still log on it if you know it's password. remcon Last connected from: 127.0.0.1
and there you have it doing it normal now lol.

What happens when you create a brand new account for the first time?
IE: I vist your game and want to play... do I have to roll a character FIRST and then make an account to tie it to, or can I create an account first and then create a new character from there?
Personally, I prefer having the account system be primary and required, but since you probably have an existing playerbase to appease, I can see not forcing it on them out of the blue.

Well I dont have an existing player base since not hosted anywhere, but since someone might I went ahead and made it so existing characters can be used for an account as long as you know the characters password. On login you have to login to your account or create one, after that you can make a new character or login to an existing one. When you create one or login to one it will add it to your account list of characters and you no longer need the password for that character.

While I prefer to login to an account and then pick which character to play, I suppose being able to log into a character directly (using the account password) would be nice, as long as your account and character names are distinct.
When logging out, I think I'd always want to end up at the account screen though.
I'd also suggest making the menu a bit tighter, but that's also my preference. Do you have an upper bound on characters per account?
My ideal login screen would look more like an MMO's...
Also, it's really hard to line up ASCII graphics when the web-based editor uses a proportional font.

well i mean you always have to login to your account before accessing characters.
simple to make it send them there lol.
No upper limit it defaults to 5 but can be set by an immortal.
Not to bad of a login screen, I just kind of tossed that in for the time being lol.
