CRAP!!!!!
Damnit I hate it when filmmakers do that, and what makes it even worse, is that Tom Clancy was the Executive Director.
As an avid reader of Tom Clancy's work, I have read Sum of all fears several times.
And I am sorry to say that this has to be one of the worst pieces of cRap that has come out of hollywood that has been based on a novel/book/game/superhero in a DAMN long time.
I guess from a cinematic point of view, it is a good movie - if you try to put aside the the fact that about the only thing that is even remotely like the book, is that there is a nuke that goes off in a football game.
Oh and the name.
Sigh!
Well without spoiling it for the rest of you. I will stop, but I must warn you, that if you have read and enjoyed the book as I have - steer clear of this one. cause it really sucks.

Having not read the book prior to this, I had nothing to compare it to besides other movies. Personally I thought it was rather good. It was at least more realistic than alot of other movies of similar type. So I'm giving this one an official Samson's thumbs up. If you haven't read the book, or even if you have, go see it!

Personally, I've avoided seeing it. Ignoring the fact that I haven't had the opportunity, I too have read the book a few times, and have heard some of what they did to the movie... As a purist, that makes me a bit...unhappy.
